About us

The Methodist Foundation of Weatherford, OK is a permanent foundation set up to support the activities of the First United Methodist Church in Weatherford.

What this means

Contributions to the Methodist Foundation of Weatherford, OK will be invested by the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma.  The entire principal given will remain intact FOREVER.  Only the accrued earnings will be used to support the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford, OK.

Our goal

The Methodist Foundation of Weatherford, OK has a long term goal to be able to provide enough earnings from investments to pay the day to day costs of facility maintenance and upkeep of the church.  If those costs are covered by investment income, then all the donations that the church receives on Sunday mornings will be able to go towards missions and ministry.  A gift to the foundation will be a gift that keeps giving to FUMC Weatherford for years and decades to come.

Who runs it

The Methodist Foundation of Weatherford, OK has a board that is selected by the nominations committee of the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford, OK.  The board responds to requests from the Trustees of the church to release a portion of the accrued earnings in order help pay for facility or other expenses.  The investments are managed by Communities Foundation of Oklahoma.
