Each year, our church participates in the Caring & Sharing program put on by the Weatherford Ministerial Alliance. We help provide Christmas presents that less fortunate parents can give to their children for Christmas. Each year, we are responsible for providing gifts for a particular gender and age group, which will can be collected by the parents in December.
Gift Collection Begins in November
Bins will be placed in the Narthex starting on Sunday, November 5th and will remain through Sunday, Dec 3rd. Our church is responsible for providing gifts for girls aged 8 – 12 years old. Please place newly purchased items (unwrapped) in collection bins or you may make a monetary donation at any time and indicate your donation is for “Caring & Sharing” gifts and members of the Missions Team will do your shopping for you closer to the date of the event. Popular gifts for this age group last year included dolls, craft kits, crayons, markers, games, books, Barbies, fashion accessories or jewelry, and room decorations. However, they are asking churches to not purchase any clothing items this year. The date of the event is Saturday, December 9th from 9am – 12pm.
